What do you write in a new baby card?+
A welcome for the baby and a sentence for the parents. The second half is what most people skip and what gets remembered — acknowledge the exhaustion alongside the joy, and the card stops sounding like it came off a shelf.
What do you say when you don't know the name or gender yet?+
Keep it gender-neutral and skip the name entirely. "Welcome to the world, little one" and "wishing your new family every happiness" work regardless. Avoid "he" or "she" and avoid anything that assumed a gender when you wrote it.
