Lunar New Year, also called Chinese New Year or Spring Festival, begins on the second new moon after the winter solstice. In 2027 it falls on 6 February, beginning the Year of the Goat — the eighth animal in the twelve-year zodiac cycle, associated with calm, creativity, and gentleness.
